The average cost of new inground pool construction in Dallas is between $60,000-$65,000. Expect to pay 10-12% more for gunite, and up to 25% more for a new fiberglass pool.

Expect to pay 10-15% more for an oval or irregularly shaped pool (non-rectangular).

Does a pool raise my insurance?

Expect your homeowners' insurance rate to increase with the addition of a swimming pool. If your rate doesn't naturally increase, make sure you carry over $100,000 in base liability coverage — especially if your pool has a surrounding deck area or play features like a diving board or waterslide. 

Allstate recommends a strong homeowners' insurance policy that covers your pool area. You'll be protected against pool damage, and the policy's liability insurance covers slips, falls and injuries.

Not long enough. An above ground pool lasts 7-15 years if properly maintained. We don't think that lifespan is long enough to justify making a purchase — it's better to spend more money upfront on inground pool installation, which will last decades.

How much does a new pool increase my property value?

Our research indicates a new pool in Dallas increases your property value between $0.50 and $0.70 per dollar spent. For example, a new pool that costs $80,000 currently adds between $40,000-$56,000 to your overall property value.

Expect new pool construction and installation to take between 8 and 12 weeks in most circumstances. You're more likely to get a quicker turnaround time in off-peak seasons (November-February).
