Dallas residents spend more on mosquito treatment than anyone in America. We reviewed Dallas mosquito control companies. Read why we like Haven and EcoSafe best
We liked that Haven supports unlimited warranty treatments (the main reason you buy mosquito service) as well as supporting their mosquito treatment with a larvicide mosquito trap for long-term support.
Another excellent choice for mosquito control in Dallas. Ecosafe uses environmentally-friendly methods to control mosquito populations, including mosquito traps (which we like) They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee and have excellent customer service.
Dallas mosquito control is a nightmare for DFW homeowners. According to a report by TruGreen, Dallas is the top consumer of mosquito prevention services in the nation — and the mosquito population here is only growing.
Dallas and Fort Worth rank in America's top 5 “mosquito problem cities”. Disease control is a major issue, with recent positive tests for West Nile Virus in the Highland Park and University Park areas.
HOMR reviewed nearly every mosquito control service currently serving Dallas Fort Worth on 4 important factors:
Local Expertise. Does the company have enough DFW experience to be a mosquito authority?
Current Mosquito Control. How effective is the company at eradicating your mosquito problem quickly (and for good)?
Preventing Future Mosquitoes. Can the company elimate mosquito colonies and prevent female mosquitoes from creating new mosquito larvae?
Fair, Transparent Pricing. An overpriced mosquito control program is just as irritating as pesky mosquitoes. Does your pest control provider offer clear quotes and fair pricing?
We recommend Haven Pest Solutions and EcoSafe Pest Control mosquito control services for mosquito treatment and management. They're convenient, come with a warranty, and aren't locked in with onerous contracts.

Why Most Dallas Residents Need a Mosquito Service
There are more reasons than comfort to use a mosquito service; Dallas has a long, relentless mosquito season.
DFW is (unfortunately) the perfect climate for mosquito activity. Some neighborhoods have to fight mosquitoes for 8 months a year because they're most mobile when temperatures rise above 80 degrees.
Mosquitoes not only cause itchy bites, but also transmit dangerous diseases such as West Nile virus and malaria.
Finally, mosquito control is a "common good." The more people that spray for mosquitoes, the better it gets for everyone in the community. Mosquitoes are airborne, and don't care about property lines. If one property has an effective mosquito control plan, it can help reduce the number of mosquitoes in the surrounding area.
The Data and Research: Why You Should Trust Us
There are nearly 2,600 pest control companies that currently serve the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We focused our research on companies that specifically focus on mosquito prevention and elimination. Our research team collected data from 14 top-rated mosquito service providers and scheduled dozens of mosquito treatments this year.
We used this data to choose our top providers — and to establish a 3-part list of what a truly effective Dallas mosquito team should accomplish.
What an Effective Dallas Mosquito Control Service Should Do
An effective mosquito control service needs to manage the 3 root causes of mosquito problems: adult mosquito control, larva and breeding control, and environmental management.
Adult Mosquito Populations
Contact pesticides kill adult mosquitoes, and add a layer of protection for 7-14 days after. These pesticides are only the first step in a comprehensive mosquito system — next, future generations of annoying mosquitoes must be eliminated.
Breeding and Mosquito Larvae Control
Adult mosquitoes live 8-10 days, but lay hundreds of eggs. Long-term solutions stop mosquitoes from breeding. Traps like the University of Florida's BG Sentinel use visual cues to attract female mosquitoes. They lay their eggs in water laced with larvicide to ensure your yard stays mosquito free longer.
Environmental Management
Shade structures and standing water provide ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Neighborhoods like Lake Highlands, Lochwood, and White Rock Valley were built in the 1950s - 1970s. Their trees are mature, and provide excellent coverage for pests to lay eggs. Homeowners should prune back trees and bushes to reduce the chance of infestation.
Clogged rain gutters are also a popular site for mosquito colonies. Schedule regular gutter cleaning and install gutter guards to ensure your roof line stays insect free.
White Rock Lake, and the many bayous and creeks around Dallas provide an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes. Any mosquito control must be supplemented by getting rid of empty pots, un-used bird baths and bad yard drainage. The goal: no standing water.
These 3 Things Don't Prevent Mosquitoes in North Dallas
Now that you know how to prevent mosquitoes, let’s talk about what doesn’t work in Dallas — and why. Avoid these 3 types of pest control service and save yourself money:
One-Time Services
Mosquitoes repopulate so quickly that one-time services don't eliminate them for good. This option doesn't provide long-term protection, and there are better ways to spend your money.
Mosquito Coils
Mosquito coils are intriguing due to their low price and passive pest prevention, but we don't recommend them. A government study shows that mosquito coils emit harmful chemicals if burned — getting rid of pests isn't worth risking your family's health.
Mosquito Repellent Systems
While these systems are effective, they're also expensive. Mosquito system installations run between $1500 - $2500 for average systems, and monthly refills run $120 - $200/month. Most homeowners are better off foregoing the costly install and paying the same monthly amount for a professional service.
How We Chose the Top Dallas Mosquito Control Companies
When selecting mosquito treatment companies to evaluate, we first researched local providers to determine which ones were most popular and had a good reputation. We then reached out to these companies to learn more about their services and determine which ones met our criteria for evaluation.
To evaluate the companies, we conducted interviews with their representatives, examined their websites and online reviews, and analyzed their pricing, service offerings, and customer service policies. We also gathered feedback from homeowners who had used their services to learn about their experiences and overall satisfaction.
In addition, we conducted dozens of mosquito treatments for our members and on our own homes. We tested mosquito traps, and fogging options like a mosquito misting system.
Finally, we contacted the remaining companies on our list. We scored service providers higher if they answered us on the first call and offered a single, direct point of contact. That's a sign of accountability for Dallas homeowners.
Here are the most common green flags and red flags we found when evaluating Dallas Fort Worth mosquito companies:

Our Picks for the Best Mosquito Companies in Dallas
Based on our research and testing, we identified Haven Pest Solutions and EcoSafe as the top mosquito treatment providers in Dallas.
Best overall: Haven Pest Solutions
Why We Like Them: Haven is one of the few companies that offers a truly "unlimited warranty" - they will re-treat a home as many times as requested for any of their recurring contract services. They also didn't lock consumers into onerous 12 month contracts in order to take advantage.
We also liked that they had total transparency on the chemicals that they were using on the property - even showing the Material Safety Data Sheets. Overall, their response speed, retreatment percentage and high HOMR member satisfaction scores helped them claim the top spot.
Non-Negotiables: We liked that Haven communicates a LOT via text. Not only do they send out 24-hour service reminders, but you can also text them during business hours with service questions, send photos of a bug, and reschedule treatments.
Best Eco-Friendly Mosquito Control: EcoSafe
Why We Like Them: We rated EcoSafe as the top organic pest control services in Dallas.
Some homeowners have risk-factors, or values that require organic pest controls, so we made sure to include a great organic company on our list. It was nice to see things like "Thyme" and "Garlic" in the "Products Used" section of the notice. For transparency, they also showed pictures of the technicians that were on site.
Non-Negotiables: Like Haven, EcoSafe also offers a true "unlimited warranty" - and they didn't lock homeowners into any long term contracts. EcoSafe also provided 24-hour text alerts, they seem to use the same software that Haven uses as their emails were identical in format.
Note on Pricing: While both Haven Pest Solutions and EcoSafe are top contenders in the Dallas area, they are not the cheapest choices. You can sometimes save $5 or $10 a month by going with a mosquito-only provider with less warranty coverage.
We think the added peace of mind and convenience are well worth the extra money — roughly $40-80 over the course of one mosquito season.
These companies didn't make our list of top mosquito treatment providers in Dallas. Here's some other great choices that we didn't recommend.
TruGreen - We liked that TruGreen's mosquito spray is all-organic. They also state it is safe for pets, people, and the environment. Unfortunately, their prices are significantly higher than our picks, and Homr members said the company didn't communicate about services. Other online reports have mentioned problems with customer service.
Mosquito Joe - Mosquito Joe is a mosquito-only provider. We liked that they offer a no-contract option that allows homeowners to pause or cancel their service if their needs change. Their prices are also on the higher side due to their increased service frequency.
Mosquito Shield - Mosquito Shield received the best ratings of the Honorable Mentions. They're a franchise business model and the owners live near the communities they serve. They ranked highly in customer service by giving day-of reminders. They also returned all of our calls! However, their pricing and service frequency may make them less attractive to homeowners on a budget.
Vinx - Vinx is a newer company that sells door-to-door in the summer. They were the only provider outside of our picks to pair their service with a larvicide. Unfortunately they also have a minimum contract length of 4 months.
Orkin - Orkin is a household name. We liked that they offer a money-back guarantee on top of their warranty. We disliked their "initial service" fee - an inflated cost for the first mosquito visit. They were the only provider that had this for mosquito service.
Conclusion
Dallas offers more than enough reasons to hate mosquitoes. Whether you're worried about malaria or West Nile Virus, or that last mosquito bite drove you crazy — we trust Haven Pest Solutions and EcoSafe to handle your mosquito problem quickly at a reasonable price point.
The right mosquito control program lets you resume outdoor activity without any pesky interruptions. It's an important part of the 24/7 Dallas home management service HOMR provides, starting at $9/month.
