We reached out to the top ranked lawn care teams on Angi, HomeAdvisor, and Thumbtack. We asked them a series of questions and tested their services. We asked them about their warranties, service offerings, and how they handle customer service issues.
Finally, our team chatted with the local area manager for TruGreen's commercial services. We asked about the most common treatments used on lawns, what's effective in North Dallas and what isn't worth messing with for the average homeowner.
After these steps, we were ready to narrow our focus and select HOMR featured partners for Dallas lawn maintenance service.
How We Selected a Dallas Lawn Care Service
Our research shows most Dallas homeowners prefer a full service lawn care company. There are many great providers that just do mowing, irrigation, or installs — but coordinating them becomes frustrating over time.
Additionally, many of the “grass only” companies that we looked at had higher pricing than their equivalent full-service counterparts.
Telling your lawn care company to mulch the beds during clean up or fix a broken sprinkler head during the weekly service ended up being so convenient that we eliminated companies from our selection that only did one element of lawn care.
There are many lawn care companies that operate without insurance. Because insurance can protect your home from damage (and is so cheap and easy for most companies to get), we strongly prefer companies with insurance.
Finally, we looked for companies that had prices within a market band for the neighborhood they served. Any companies that were significantly overpriced compared to their competitors were eliminated from our offerings.
